What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is spending time with someone who is confident in God’s love and care for you. The practice of spiritual direction offers time and space for you to pay attention to the voice and activity of God in your life. My role is that of a companion who listens to you, listens with you, asks questions, and holds space for you.
There may be a specific question that draws you to explore spiritual direction, or perhaps just a longing for something deeper. We begin with whatever has drawn you to direction, and explore what God may have for you there.
Spiritual direction does not take the place of professional counseling, nor is it advice giving on the part of the director. Spiritual direction is most often a monthly commitment to meet for an hour of soul care.
Meet Deborah Jackson
It is often the perspective of someone listening to you that brings clarity to your questions and helps you to identify the answers. I passionately believe that God is active in our lives; it is an honor to be invited to be a companion in identifying that activity in your life.
The way to spiritual wholeness lies in an increasingly faithful response to the One whose purpose shapes our path, whose grace redeems our detours, whose power liberates us from the crippling bondages of the prior journey and whose transforming presence meets us at each turn in the road. Spiritual Direction
Explore spiritual direction with an initial conversation; if you’d like to continue we’ll schedule monthly sessions to continue the practice of nurturing your spiritual life.
Sessions are available via Zoom, FaceTime, or in person in Hendersonville or Mt. Juliet.
Speaking
I enjoy sharing with any configuration of groups: congregations, Bible studies, classes, conferences, retreats.
